Summary:

Opportunity to work with management and superintendents to expand your knowledge and aptitude of the PM position. To assist in the day-to-day onsite operations for individual construction projects from preconstruction through the close-out phase. This includes but is not limited to supporting the procuring, scheduling, and the directing of work crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials. The assistant project manager must be able to assist in constructing projects in accordance with construction designs, plans, and specifications while complying with the established scope, schedule, and budget. The assistant project manager must also be able to work with key stakeholders providing updates and resolution to project issues to the project managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and understand proposals, estimates, plans, specifications, permits, and related documents, analyzing labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with managers, estimators, superintendents, operations manager, equipment manager on project management – materials, internal crews, subcontractors
  • Maintain continual communication with the project manager, customer, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Work with the project manager, engineers, environmental teams, owners, vendors, suppliers, etc.
  • Become knowledgeable and skilled in operation of road building and site development equipment to work with superintendents regarding timely, proper, and safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain project records on a daily basis
  • Assists in Creating monthly pay estimates and reviewing/approving invoices
  • Help create project schedules and work orders
  • Meet with owners and professionals as required with PM
  • Assist in the timely completion of work assignments within the estimated costs while maintaining the company’s reputation for quality workmanship.
  • Report injuries and equipment damage to management.
  • Work with state and local inspectors to ensure work is performed according to established guidelines

Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Ability to understand and increase knowledge of engineered drawings, blueprints
  • Aptitude with computers, internet, MS Office
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Easily adaptable to changes in a technology-driven environment
  • Ability to travel, work extended hours and some weekends
  • Bachelor’s degree/ or pursuing Bachelor’s in civil engineering, construction management or related field
  • Sound understanding of safety guidelines
  • Strong organizational, professionalism, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Ability to identify project risks and offer possible resolution.
  • Strong potential to lead a team and be a member of a team
