Summary:

To inspect, service, and maintain a range of heavy-duty construction equipment and vehicles. A mechanic will be responsible for driving to job sites, inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routing maintenance to the construction fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
  • Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment.
  • Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts.
  • Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Clean and service machine attachments.
  • Report damaged, faulty, or neglected equipment to management.
  • Maintain inventory and appropriate records.
  • Requisition replacement parts.
  • Order and pick up parts and supplies necessary for assigned maintenance and repair work.
  • Interact with vehicle/equipment operators to help determine service and repair needs.
  • Observe safety codes at all times.
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Two plus years combination of education or experience in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications such as MS Office and internet functions
  • Ability to work extended hours and some weekends
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
  • Understanding computer testing technology
  • Posses a valid driver’s license
